Good day,
I am RonaId Morris, I saw your profile and I decided to contact you immediately. Can you get back to me on my email (ronmorri01@gmail.com) for full details.
Regards.
Hey Peter, Yep, I remember them all. When I left Bamberg in '80 I went to Ft. Lewis, WA for just over a year. I reuped and ended up at Ft. Benning. I met Yoder there about '81 or so. We both had motorcycles and used to go on road trips together with the girls. Got to know him well. After my daughter graduated UMASS at the top of her class she was invited to apply to Harvard and Cornell. She chose Harvard and she's going for her PhD in Science. Majoring in Organism Evolution and also a second major in Botany. She's in her 3rd year and crushing it. Went to UMASS right out of high school and never slowed down. Very proud of her. I'll post a couple pics. I remember you worked in the motor pool, right? Glad to hear from you bro. Hit me back!! Unbelievable it's been over 40 years man.
Hey Peter, How are ya. Yeah....I have a ton of pictures. I only posted some. HAHAHA...which hiatus?? I went on a few. Downstairs from the barracks or downstairs from my apartment. I had to take an ambulance one morning to Frankfurt after I broke my back falling down my stairs. Ended up staying there for a few months. Yeah...Ski and I would go on road trips every now and then after morning formation. I remember Green now. Olson rings a bell...... was he CO before Cpt. Davis? I was in HHC when I first got to Bamberg and transferred to Alpha after about 6 months. HHC was as laid back as possible. No formations....like having a regular job. We just went to work. I worked in S-1 and SFC Davis was in charge of S-4. HHC did a 360 after our Top left (I never even saw the guy....he was 2 steps from retirement and didn't care.) All good things come to an end and that was no exception. After he retired we got this WACKO TOP and all that changed. I mean this guy was as military as any human could possibly be. 3 formations a day....PT....inspections....Then we got that crazy E-9 in Battalion HQ. Remember "School of the Soldier" on Saturday. He started that. I was good friends with Ed Evans (that pic of he and I was at his Apt.) and his wife hung out with mine when we were in the field. I was friends with Tom Jelenick too, who worked in S-4 with SFC Davis before he became Alpha Top. I would go over there when I had a chance to chat with Tom and Davis was always throwing me out. So he knew me when he came to Alpha as TOP. Davis and Davis. Check out my pics. In pic CAM00385 is a pic of one of our Tops. Can't recall his name but he must have been Olson's First Sgt. He was a nice guy. I was in the orderly room one morning and we were pulling guard duty. Some new guy came in with his M-16 and let it RIP on full auto. People were flying everywhere. One round hit the fuse box and sparks were flying. The MP's came and got the guy and I never saw him again. Before my wife came over I was roomies with Denson and Glover. Ski's room was last one on the right. Remember Bogits, DeBarno, Smitty, Lampkin, Owens, "Rags" Cooper, Burt White.(he and Ski were always together) Spinachia. Vern Kerr is a member here. Hard to believe that all that was almost 40 years ago brother!! I believe I have a pic of you. Pretty sure it's you. After I saw your name I remembered. We were in country the same time. I ended up being a chemist and have 3 kids....all grown. My daughter received a full academic scholarship to UMASS Medical School and is gonna be a surgeon. She is pulling double majors. Also Botany. Good kids thank God. Hope you are well. Drop me a line and let me know if you recall anything I mentioned here. DRIVING ME NUTS what that Tops name was. Later man.
