We became good friends. Sp4 Boyd. Davis and Davis (CO & Top). Top Davis was mean man!! Pvt Spinnachia.......Sp4 DeBarno. Bogits.....Ed Evans and I were good friends. My wife got there in the beginning of '79 and her and Ed's wife became friends.
Ernie was a good guy. Always called me Piano!! LOL. I remember that time the choppers took us out about 100 clicks to secure this town. They told us not to over dress because we'd be sweating from humping 10 clicks from where the choppers dropped us. The tracks were supposed to pick us up in a few hours. I was humping a 60 and the snow was over a foot deep. I only wore my wool shirt!! We got to the town and night fell. Still no tracks!! FREEZING MAN!! SFC Steed was with us. I thought Ernie froze in place.....the guy was so pissed he didn't move for hours!! There was a church on the corner but it was locked. The coldest I've ever been in my life Dan!! The tracks didn't come until the next morning!! Never forgot that. Probably why I live in L.A. Take care man......glad I never lost those pics so I could share here!! SSG Kerr is on here. Caught a classic of him!!
