Good day, I am RonaId Morris, I saw your profile and I decided to contact you immediately. Can you get back to me on my email (ronmorri01@gmail.com) for full details. Regards.
I ended up going to Ft Lewis, WA. after Bamberg..... worked for the 9th Infantry Division Colonal. Was his clerk and Driver. The guy was GREAT!! Gave me a freaking ARCOM for turning his office perfect (awards, etc) I re-upped and then to Ft. Benning with a letter of rec from the Colonal for the Infantry Board. We tested all new gear, weapons, vehicles. It was AWESOME!! I got out in '83 after 6 years.
Hey Ken....I left in 1980. I got there in '78. DAVIS was the C.O. and MANNING was TOP. Big guy.... he was pretty cool though. Airborne, Ranger, Pathfinder.....Hardcore dude. He was a great First Sgt. though. He left and SFC Davis came over from S-4 where he was in charge. Never saw the guy smile ONCE!! I was in S-1 in HHC and it was LAID BACK. Like a 9 to 5. So I knew TOP Davis from there....PAC. My friend Tommy Jelenick worked in S-4 and when I had time I'd walk down the hall to say hey. David ALWAYS kicked me out!! Then, the TOP that was at HHC left to retire and some GUNG HO nut job took over. Completely changed. So...I put in for a transfer to ALPHA because I wanted to be a 60 Gunner. Loved the weapon. So when Manning left and Davis came over I knew he was gonna be on my butt. At that point it was Davis and Davis. C.O. and Top.

Cpt Chip Paxton was leaving as the CO when I got there in early December 1985. He had a great impact on the company, everyone loved him. Then we had 15 months of doom and gloom under Cpt Oettinger.
Does anyone remember a SSG last name Bailey? He was a former marine and oddly enough was one of the drill sgt's at Bennig when I went through. He was CRAZZZZY! HAHA But a real cool dude. When I got to Aco I saw his picture in the past company photos.
