James,

Yes, Warner Barracks is no more.  It was a very sad day for many there... Bambergers still hold "their" soldiers in very high regard and affection.

The picture is over by garrison HQ and the western-most part of the post.  They altered the actual gate after 9/11, which may be why it doesn't look the same.

Over by where the Zoo was, they blocked off Zollner Strasse at the intersection before the Officer's Club, and they built an elaborate gate/access point there.  Everything past that on ZollnerStr. was within the fenceline.

Does this mean that Warner Barracks is no more?  It has been forty years since I(we) terrorized the cobblestone!  I don't recognize the gate picture either.  That could be from old age too!!!!  I did visit friends there in 82 on podeldorfer st(I know, can't spell)lol  I seem to remember the reflective road markers getting flattened out in the eatly 70's, hmmmm?  Merry Christmas to "Ready Rifles" comrads.
