The long-time headquarters for the 82nd Engineer Battalion -- BLUE BABE -- vacant and relegated to history. It is amazing to think of all the WWII memorabilia: Tanks, Half-Tracks, artillery pieces and recovery vehicles that we used to have on Warner Bks, and largely took for granted.

There was a lot of things going on in the 70s. It was a special time. Viet Nam the cold war race. CSC 1/52 Inf. We were right in the middle of it all. Then you Israel and the meddle east doing their thing. We ship all our TOWs there.. We're were a special unit. Proud of it.
Good info thanks! I love all that memorabilia it was cool to see some of them move too!
Its true about the riots but not about black or white. Remember in the 70s the Bider mienhof gang {spelling} was going around blowing up things that was U.S. We did have Race problems then but the crows nest had nothing to do with that.It more to give redeye a plateform to shot from.
I remember those old vehicles, they used fire up one of those staff cars and drive around on special days. I was told that those crows nest on the roof top was for riot control. Supposedly there used to be inter unit riots and they would post armed guards on top, with orders to "Shoot to kill". Not sure if that was true or just a good story.
